Two weeks ago, I found myself in sunny Cancun, Mexico at the Now Jade Resort for Jen and Nate’s wedding. I was joined by my good friend Somer, who came to second shoot. From the moment we got off the shuttle, the view took my breath away. I knew we were in for a great trip. Jen and Nate were so fortunate to have about 50 of their closest friends and family there to celebrate. Since I knew Jen since high school, it was like one big reunion with so many old friends. We got to spend several days at the resort and even got to do some sightseeing. It was such a nice break from the cold New England weather.
Jen and Nate had their rehearsal the morning before their wedding. I loved how they got into the beachy theme with their bride and groom bathing suits. Later that evening they hosted an “all white” cocktail hour. It was so nice to be included in every aspect not only as photographers but as guests. When it came time for wedding day we couldn’t ask for better weather. It was picture perfect. When Jen put her dress on, I even teared up. The ceremony took place on the beach and what’s a beach wedding without some wedding crashers. (Not going to lie, we all did the same thing the next day as we watched another ceremony)
The reception was where it all went down. This group can dance. (at least most of them 😉 ) I even was able to join the crowd for a few. (thanks Somer!)
My favorite part was the day after. We were able to sneak away at night for a short portrait session on the beach. The weather was a bit more stormy but I love love loved the contrast of the sky and the blue water. I am so happy they were down for these pictures.
I could go on and on about what an amazing time we had but I will let the pictures speak for themselves. Jen and Nate, thank you so much for letting us be apart of your day. We were truly honored to be there.
